Meat lovers rejoice! There’s a restaurant in the East Village just for you.

Bowery Meat Company opened in late 2014 to a world of praise from all the right people. The meat-centric restaurant is located right on the border of where the East Village, Nolita, and the Lower East Side neighborhoods all meet – aka a prime location. The menu is the brainchild of Chef Josh Capon, who seems to be slowly taking over the NYC restaurant scene with interesting and delicious eateries like Lure Fishbar, El Toro Blanco, and Burger and Barrel. We love that Chef Capon is as versatile as he is talented. Even at Bowery Meat Company his love for variety is apparent with dishes ranging from a killer Chinese-BBQ Pork Belly to a mouth-watering Duck Lasagna.

In his signature style, Chef Capon likes to take fancy foods and make them fun. Take, for example, the Foie Gras & Chicken Liver Parfait. It’s served on brioche toast slices with an onion jam that will make you go cross-eyed. Their famous Duck Lasagna for Two is so mouth-watering it’s hard not to order every time. If you did that though, you’d be missing dishes like the Veal Chop, grilled with moorish spices and burnt orange. In keeping with the “Meat Co.” genre, they serve a delectable Bowery Steak with a drizzled salsa verde sauce and fluffy, whipped potatoes. Also of note is their Grilled Ribeye with blistered shishito peppers.

We can’t forget the cheeseburger, which is anything but basic. Chef Capon is famous for his burgers. The Bowery Meat Co.’s version is served with grilled onions, raclette cheese, and tomato aioli – making it one of our favorite burgers in the city right now. You seriously can’t go wrong at this joint, and while Chef Capon is known to rub elbows with lots of celebs, he keeps the place casual enough that it doesn’t alienate the rest of us!
