The Bode Hotel in Chattanooga, Tennessee is one of the most unique hotels we’ve ever stayed at. The property is set up more like a communal living space and the rooms, more like apartments. Bode blends the different vibes beautifully and cohesively – we were so impressed!
Our room featured two bedrooms, one with a standard king bed and the other with bunks. My 4.5 year old daughter, Penny, was stoked to find a disco ball nightlight shining all over her room and quickly set the top bunk up as a play space and the bottom for her bed. It was so sweet to see how delighted she was and how special she felt having this room all to herself.
Whyyyy do kids wake up so early when you travel? We’ll never know the answer but we were grateful for the huge living room, kitchen, and dining area in our room. It allowed us to let Penny watch a show while we got ready each morning and gave us a place to eat breakfast, which we brought up from the adorable coffee shop downstairs.
The coffee shop, appropriately called Dawn, served a killer latte and delicious yogurt parfaits and egg sandwiches. It was so nice to be able to simply pop downstairs for a hearty breakfast which we should enjoy there or up in our room. Across the room, you’ll find Dusk, a bar area filled with games and places to sit and work or enjoy a drink.
The bartender makes a mean espresso martini which we craved every afternoon around happy hour, both for the delicious flavor and the jolt of caffeine we needed after a day exploring Chattanooga. The bar is also where you check in – it’s all very casual- and then you’ll receive a text welcoming you to the property. Should you need anything while you’re there, simply reply to the text and someone will help you immediately. In the lobby, there’s also a little market selling snacks, drinks, and other food items you can take with you when you leave or bring up to the room to make it feel a bit more like home.
We’d be remiss if we didn’t praise the selection is entertainment at Bode! Billiards, ping pong, and shuffleboard tables are all dotted throughout the lobby and on Thursday night there was live music. It was such a wonderful space to relax and have fun every afternoon!
Chattanooga is my hometown and I’ve loved watching it grow in these man years since I’ve lived away. Seeing new, cool, luxury properties like Bode move into the downtown area delights me to my core. Bode felt like a home away from home and we cannot wait to go back!
