Gurney’s has long been a great weekend getaway option for New Yorkers, but it just got even better following an impressive renovation. Finished earlier this year, the complete upgrade consists of two new restaurants, a coffee shop, a craft cocktail bar, and a revamped beach club. Scarpetta Beach, one of the new eateries, is a sister outpost to the Italian restaurant in the Meatpacking District.

The beach club is one of the best aspects of the resort. Set on a beautiful and relatively quiet strip of beach, there are plenty of loungers and daybeds to go around. You can even rent them out if you’re not a hotel guest, but be warned, that can cost you a pretty penny.

Gurney’s is a year-round resort and one the largest in the Hamptons area. It has every amenity you could ask for on a picturesque beachfront location. The rooms are spacious and most have an ocean view with a private deck. Montauk is one of our favorite getaway towns because it has all the great beaches, shops and restaurants the Hamptons has to offer but with a more chill and relaxed vibe. Three hours east of the City, Gurney’s is one of our favorite weekend spots around.
