You can’t live in Manhattan or even visit for a long weekend without hearing about the burger at JG Melon. It’s kind of a New York staple that has stood the test of time and weathered a myriad of foodie fads from Food Trucks to Cronuts.

Until recently though, the only location was on the Upper East Side. Enter… the new West Village location. Yes, the iconic UES location is probably the ideal place to experience the burger, but if you’re hangry and too lazy to make the trek, hooray for the second location!

The West Village location has been open since July 2015 and the cozy burger spot has stayed busy ever since. JG Melon is also beloved for it’s laid back, casual atmosphere. It’s not trendy. It’s classic and they strive for substance over style. Even from the outside, it looks like a place where you could saddle up at the bar and escape the busy streets. The burger also reflects their simple, timeless style. It comes with a few options for cheese, and it’s served with lettuce, tomato, onion, and a juicy pickle. Pretty basic – but it’s basic that’s done well – and for that we thank you Mr. Melon. Whoever you are.
