No corners are cut at this incredibly charming, well-appointed inn just past East Hampton in Amagansett. It’s one of our favorite weekend getaways outside of New York City. The beautiful, hydrangea-filled property is comprised of a main house with surrounding cottages, all shingled in the traditional Hampton’s style. Off-season is an ideal time to visit because the luxurious rooms provide a cozy winter haven, all the crowds are gone, and let’s be be honest, only Jay-Z can afford it in the summer.
Do they give out awards for best hotel beds? If so, we’ll throw this one into the ring as a top contender. With crisp white linens and lavish thread counts, it’s like sleeping in a cloud, and you’ll undoubtedly have one of the best night’s sleep in ages. The bathrooms are equally luxurious and outfitted with spa-like marble showers and tubs. You’ll end up finding excuses just to hang out in there.
With the beach just minutes away, summer is obviously a wonderful time to visit the Hamptons as well. However, the Inn at Windmill Lane is not to be forgotten in the winter – the accommodations are top-notch, the prices are more affordable and a private fireplace is the perfect place to curl up to with a nice glass of vino.
