Walking into The Hewing Hotel, you can tell there’s a story. The incredibly high ceilings, huge windows, and giant wooden beams hint at a former life. In fact, The Hewing Hotel, in downtown Minneapolis, was once a warehouse where farming equipment was built, with old railroad access still visible from the ballroom window.
While some aspects hint at a long history, the decor tells you this is a cool, new place. Warm leathers, exposed brick, and industrial accents make the property feel edgy and art installations like the purple rain drops falling from the ceiling in the center of the building, pay respect to Prince who called the city of Minneapolis home until he died in 2016.
The property consists of 124 dog friendly rooms, including 14 suites, with a variety of different layouts. Whether you’re a couple on a romantic getaway, a family traveling with kids, or a wedding party needing space to get ready together, there is a perfect, beautiful room for you.
The rooftop pool and sauna are sure to lure you upstairs no matter the time of year, where you can also have a drink or a nosh at the rooftop lounge. One of the cooler experiences Minnesota offers is hot tubbing whilst surrounded by feet of fluffy snow!
The Hewing Hotel is perfectly located in the North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis. Here, you’re walking distance to some really great boutiques, amazing restaurants, and Target Field where the Twins play. You can also walk – or bike, the hotel offers bikes on a first-come first-served basis- along the Mississippi River for a lovely afternoon stroll.
This beautiful and cool historic property is one of our favorites in Minneapolis and one we recommend to all our friends and family! Their Tullibee Restaurant is one of the best spots in town, too!
