We have long searched for the perfect pair of shoes. It needed to be a pair that went with just about anything, was right for nearly any occasion, and came in lots of colors. Comfort was key as was design, durability, and sustainability. Needless to say, we assumed we were asking too much…that is, until we learned about Charix.
These beautiful slip-on shoes are the answer to our shoe prayers! A traditional charik is a leather shoe made by skilled artisans in Turkey. They’ve been making them for centuries and luckily the founder of Charix, an avid traveler, saw them during a trip home to Istanbul years ago, fell in love, and knew he could upgrade them with modern craftsmanship. In 2015, Charix was born and, based in Washington, DC, they’ve been quietly growing ever since.
These gorgeous, versatile shoes are made from premium natural leather, have a memory foam insole which makes them super comfortable, a non skid outsole so you won’t slip, and a micro lining for a better fit and to help them hold their shape. The Charix tannery is certified gold by the Leather Working Group and the Instanbul-based atelier puts love, creativity and pride into each pair they make.
