We’d heard great things about the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita for quite some time and finally had a chance to visit in December 2021. It’s an exceptional property that really encapsulates what the Four Seasons does best – an incomparable luxury experience for all guests, from couples and honeymooners to friend groups and families with kids of all ages.
Arriving through the property’s main gates, you drive past immaculate green lawns, colorful foliage, and perfectly manicured palms until you reach the smiling faces of the Four Seasons staff at the open air lobby. It’s not long before you have a welcome drink in hand and you’re staring out at the majestic, sparkling blue Pacific. It’s a view you’ll never get tired of, whether enjoying cocktails in the ocean-view infinity pool or counting whale sightings from your own private beach cabana. With superb staff, amazing cuisine, two beachfront areas, multiple pools, a glorious spa, and nightly churros, the Four Season Resort Punta Mita is one of the most magical properties in all of Mexico.
Getting there:
The resort lies on a lush 400 acre reserve that juts out in into the Pacific on a peninsula with stunning views of Bahía de Banderas. To get there, fly into Puerto Vallarta airport. The resort is then a 45-minute drive away. We recommend using the concierge to book the hotel’s transportation service.
The rooms:
While the property has been around for awhile, we were very pleased to find rooms were modern, luxurious and up to date. The the fun margarita welcome amenity, plush cloud-like bedding, and sleek private balcony space were our favorites parts of the abode!
Around the property:
While at a high capacity, the resort never once felt crowded. Every day we found a new area to relax or explore. The southern beach area is idyllic for swimming and beach walks, while the northern beach is awesome for whale-watching and lazing the day away in elevated beach cabanas. The main infinity pool is long and curvy with plenty of lounge seating and jaw-dropping views of the Pacific. We also really loved the adult pool area. The serene setting consists of 2 pools, a great lunch restaurant with both Mexican cuisine and fresh sushi, a cocktail bar and more private cabanas. Not far from like adult pool area, you’ll find the Punta Mita Spa. Enjoy their signature Punta Mita Tequila Stone Massage, then unwind in the serene courtyard relaxation space.
What to do:
Besides pool and beachside lounging, we absolutely loved watching all the whales playing in the Pacific. It was like watching a symphony of jumping all day long. Whale-watching season runs December to March, and it’s well-worth timing your visit to experience this. Other big highlights included the sea-turtle release and tequila tasting, where we got to make and take home our very own bottle. Next time we visit, we’re going to book the excursion to Hidden Beach and the Marietas Islands through the concierge!
