Andrew Carmellini artfully fuses stellar home-style Italian fare with a great atmosphere at Locade Verde in TriBeCa. If the impressive wine selection doesn’t captivate you right out of the gate, the warm house-made focaccia bread certainly will. Relish the cool sketches on the exposed brick walls while deciding on which of their famous crostinis to order. We suggested the Sheep’s Milk Ricotta with Sea Salt and Herbs or the light and delicious Blue Crab with Garlic Cream, Jalapeño and Tomato Compote. The Lamb Meatball sliders and Grandma’s Ravioli are mainstays of the menu and also can’t be missed.

Even after six years, it’s still a serious scene. A little effort is needed to score a reservation or just try your luck and go early to eat at the bar. After dinner, saunter across North Moore and grab a nightcap at the tucked-away little cocktail bar called Smith & Mills.
