Mill House Inn NEW

“Hi there, welcome to the Mill House Inn, can I grab you some coffee?”

When you stay at the Mill House Inn in East Hampton, you’re staying with friends. Walking inside upon arrival, the check-in desk is immediately overshadowed by the snack bar. Affectionally known as the ‘Nack Bar, the long counter overflows with goodies like coffee-flour brownies, cookies, jerky, and fresh juices – all house made. Courtney invites you in, as her husband J (the General Manger, aka “Captain of Caffeine“) offers to make you a fresh cup of joe, any way you like it.

There are many top notch places to stay in the Hamptons, but service sets this adored inn apart from the rest. Their 10 luxuriously appointed suites are anything but cookie-cutter. Charming and spacious, each suite suite has its own design, style and sense of character. You’ll find the bathrooms equally as decadent – some with steam showers, some with double soak tubs, and some with both. In terms of the always-important ‘comfy bed’ amenity, the Mill House Inn certainly does not disappoint. Silky-soft white linens lie atop an extra plush mattress cover, so you may want to add in a few naps just to make the most of sleeping in a cloud.

The Mill House Inn serves one legendary breakfast. Only guests can score a coveted seat at one of Chef Carolyn’s tables. Sourcing locally, she works closely with neighborhood & area purveyors to develop a constantly evolving menu based on the best ingredients available. Chef Carolyn ardently believes that you should know where your food comes from, and her passion for creating new and delicious dishes has made her kitchen quite famous in the area. Even Zagat has taken notice, naming the inn as one of their Top 50 Small Hotels.

When you’re not indulging in a fresh cappuccino brewed by J or blueberry pancakes whipped up by Carolyn, Courtney will assist you in planning your day. She prescribes a lovely 4 mile stroll through town & neighborhood lanes, to the beach and back, to help work off some of that breakfast. Having grown up in the area, she has recommendations on all the best to see and do in the Hamptons.

When the day is done, head back to the inn for some hot apple cider on the front porch or snag one of the freshly baked cookies for dessert from the ‘Nack Bar.

The scenic Hamptons may be what your come for, but the Mill House Inn will end up being the most memorable. Everything here is done well, and done with heart. Courtney, J, Chef Carolyn and all the folks at the inn are passionate about making your experience truly special.

Compass + Twine was a welcome guest of the inn and thanks the Mill House Inn for a lovely stay. All opinions are our own.
