Walking into Seamore’s, you might pause and think you were out in Montauk rather than on Mulberry Street in Little Italy. Serving fresh seafood and fish tacos, the brand new eatery is a welcomed addition to the downtown restaurant scene. The space is bright and airy with light wood floors, white subway wall-tiles, and turquoise accents. In an attempt to combine his restaurant business acumen with his passion for fishing, Michael Chernow seems to have successfully executed on his first foray into seafood. If it’s anything close to Chernow’s endeavor with The Meatball Shop, the success could hold steady for a long while.

The golden-battered crispy fish tacos at Seamore’s will become your summer anthem if they aren’t already. The fresh catch, savory batter, and spicy mayo aioli together will make your eyes roll backwards. All the items on the simple menu are fresh and tasty. The crispy squid and tuna poke are both excellent choices as starters. For their signature dish, the Reel Deal, they incorporate only the freshest catches of the day, and you can pick and choose your preferred sauce and style. Seamore’s is a delightful spot with delicious food. The only player you kinda have to feel bad for is Little Italy, because it just keeps getting smaller and smaller. Womp, womp.
