Charleston: The 3 Best Bites We Had

Charleston, South Carolina is a food lovers paradise. Southern fried chicken and briskets, freshly baked biscuits and pies, and cool beer and cocktails to wash it all down, you could get lost in all the down home cookin’. Luckily, you can skip right to the good best stuff.  We take taste-testing seriously…so 2 fulls day and 5 full lbs later, we’ve narrowed down the 3 best bites we had in Charleston.

1. Ultimate Coconut Cake from the peninsula grill

They are NOT messing around with this cake, ya’ll. A whole 5 inches tall, 6 layers of fresh coconutty cake and vanilla icing will sate your sweet tooth for all of 2016.  Served with strawberry and a chocolate swirl, this cake is insanely delicious and best when shared with you boo. Can’t make it to Charleston anytime soon but NEED this cake? We feel you and you’re in luck. For a cool $130, you can order a cake to serve 16 of your nearest and dearest and enjoy it right in the comfort of your own home.

2. Fried chicken from husk

Ok, we’ll admit it: fried chicken is our weakness. If it’s on a menu, especially in The South, we’re ordering is and finishing every finger lickin’ bite. The chicken at Husk is a-MAH-zing and the only thing that could make it better is more of that yummy cornbread that was served on the side.

3. pimento and short rib crisps

WHAAAAT. Are you kidding me right now? Pimento cheese and braised short ribs. Do we really have to say anything else? Ok- actually we do and that is: hurry to the Palmetto Cafe and order a few of these because one bite and you won’t want to share!
