The Lodge at Torrey Pines is one of those places that forces you to simply exhale. Around every corner of the stunning property, you’ll find another element of relaxation. From the luxurious spa to a world-class golf course, one stay at the Lodge at Torrey Pines and you’ll have found a new favorite vacation oasis.

Walking into grand entrance foyer of the resort, you’ll be transfixed by the intricate wood-work and ornate stained-glass windows. A craftsmen-style design is the name of the game here, with the cozy post-and-beam architecture extending into the guest rooms as well. Stickley furniture with warm wood tones welcome you into your guest room; however, the bed is what deserves all attention. As you sink into the Egyptian cotton sheets, you enter a cloud-like cocoon that’s as relaxing as we’ve ever encountered. The lodge continues their devoted effort towards a euphorically sound sleep with their thoughtful turn-down service each night. A lavender face and pillow spray placed atop your bed helps lure you into a deep slumber. These are the little details they do so well.

Serene and relaxing, the pool area is one of our favorite aspects of the lodge. The water is heated and chlorine-free. Yes, please. Grab a fluffy towel and unwind in one of the many loungers to soak in that California sun. Pool tenders happily bring you a chilled glass of rosé or fresh iced tea. Don’t leave without trying the famed Drugstore Burger, voted one of the best in San Diego. A day spent outside lounging by this pool will melt away any reminisce of stress you might still have with you.

Perhaps most recognizable to the resort is the famed Torrey Pines golf course, which is widely regarded as one of the best public-access courses in the country. With views of the Pacific beckoning from afar, Torrey Pines challenges the skill level of all players, even the greats. The PGA course was the site of the 2008 U.S Open, where Tiger Woods last won a major. He’ll get a second chance in 2021 when the famed course hosts the Open again. Guests of Torrey Pines simply can’t leave without at least hitting the green where the pros play, with the picturesque La Jolla coastline in the distance.
