The Greek isles are an enchanting and blindingly beautiful part of the world. Each time we visit a new island, we fall in love with Greece all over again. Photos we saw of Rhodes lured us there, but the people, the food, and the beaches will tempt us to return. We’ve put together a quick destination guide for you, for your visit to Rhodes.

So good, we went 3 times during our week-long visit to the island, To Nissaki is a great waterfront spot for dinner, in the town of Kolympia. The shrimp in garlic cream sauce is insanely good and we loved the bright and sweet Mastiha digestif served at the end of each meal.
There are lots of restaurants dotting Lindos Beach. We chose Palestra because it was the prettiest, least crowded, and furthest from the beach crowds. Turns out, it was delicious. Fresh seafood, simply prepared, made better only by a glass of white wine. Ya mas!
Faliraki Beach is very touristy and really crowded so we don’t recommend it for sunbathing. However, definitely stop there to have lunch at Porto Bella. The gyro plate was out of this world good and we suggest washing it down with a cold, local beer.
DO
While you may visit the most gorgeous beach on your first beach day, we recommend doing a little beach hopping. Find our favorite beaches on Rhodes here.
If you have time, seeing the island by boat is highly recommended. We weren’t able to find a time that worked for us, as we were traveling with our then 14 month old daughter and most trips were full day sails, but friends have raved about their experiences. We also hear taking the ferry to nearby Symi and exploring the port town is a great way to spend the day.
Spend the morning exploring Old Town. Dating back to 1309, Rhodes is rich in history and there is so much to see. Go early to avoid the full sun, as it gets pretty hot in the afternoon here.
