A recent canceled flight while traveling through Barcelona gave us the opportunity to stay in town at a chic little boutique that hotel we’d been eyeing for awhile: Hotel Pulitzer Barcelona. The hotel seems to consistently offer attractive rates, and last minute, they certainly delivered with a €140/night price – we’ll take it! With a cool cosmopolitan vibe, prime location beside Plaza Catalunya, and plush, well-appointed guest-rooms, why look elsewhere?
Location
- Steps from the main Las Ramblas promenade, Plaza Catalunya, and the upscale Eixample neighborhood, you couldn’t pick a more centrally located home-base.
- Easy walk to neighborhoods like El Born and the Gothic Quarter
- Also around the corner, you’ll find one of the best tapas bars in the city, Cuidad Condal.
Hotel Space
- Artistic, contemporary design with chic parlor seating areas and a swanky bar, which serves as a happening cocktail spot for both tourists and locals alike.
- From the moment you step inside, you can tell the Hotel Pulitzer is a buzzing, design-forward hangout.
- The hotel’s Greenhouse Restaurant serves market-fresh dishes in a bright, airy space with high ceiling and lots of windows.
- The hotel’s Pulitzer Vermut terrace bar is a chic 6th-floor outdoor space for scene-y drinks with friends or a pre-dinner cocktail. Summer weekends, you can usually find live music or a DJ playing tunes to a rather fashionable locals crowd.
Hotel Rooms
- Dark woods and brassy metal accents create a masculine, almost library-like feel to the guest rooms. However, a cushy bed with plush white linens stands out like a cloud amid the broody decor.
- Despite it’s central location, we enjoyed an excellent night’s sleep with a quiet courtyard-facing room with blackout shades.
- Spacious bathrooms are designed with grey marble and black ceramic with all the expected amenities.
