Traveling allows you to explore new cities, enjoy exotic cuisines, and learn about different cultures. All of those things are to be expected, but one travel perk isn’t getting the attention it deserves: foreign snacks.
Local snacks are one of the first things we look for when touching down in a new place. It may sound silly, but 1) we get hangry and 2) it’s a great way to get a little local taste right off the bat plane. So… we present you with some our favorite snacks from around the world!
Goat Cheese Bugles | St. Barths
Tangy, salty, a little rich, and wildly addictive, the goat cheese flavor in these savory morsels elevates your favorite childhood snack to a whole new level.
Ham Pringles| Barcelona, Spain
Way more delicious than they sound, once you pop (and get past the strange odor), you won’t be able to stop. Barcelona is filled with amazing, artisanal cured meats… and these little gems are the snacker’s shortcut to deliciousness.
Flake| London
Milk-chocolatey and flakier than a buttery croissant, these are mouth-watering on their own but best had when jammed into a scoop of ice cream. Enjoy watching those chocolate flakes rain down on your dessert.
Walkers Shortbread| Scotland
This tell-tale red box contains buttery, classic shortbread flavors but portioned out so you can enjoy them on the go or dunk the into cup of tea.
Dulce de Leche Wafers| Mexico City, Mexico
We have to thank our favorite food blogger in Mexico City, @michelleonbell, for introducing us to these. The caramel morsels are so dreamy, we find it hard not to eat the entire bag in one sitting. Sorrynotsorry.
Douwe Egberts Coffee| Bermuda
Ok, so not necessarily a snack, but you’ve got to get the day started somehow! This coffee is rich without being bitter and silky to the tongue.
Lavender Candy| Provence, France
Floral and sweet these candies take you to the lavender fields of France and back again with every refreshing piece.
