The online service and app allows you to browse and rent available rental cars for almost anywhere you plan to travel in the US. You can skip those long rental car lines at the airport and have the car of your choice delivered to the arrivals area at the airport, your hotel, or your friend’s house. From pickup trucks to small sedans, the options are endless.
Since the cars are rented by their owners, prices are set at a daily rate and some owners charge for the delivery of the vehicle to your location. Just like with mainstream car rental companies, you’re asked to fill the tank before returning it, and you’re able to purchase (or decline) insurance. Similar to Airbnb, you can read user reviews for the car and learn more about the owner before you rent. Were they easy to work with? Did they deliver the car on time? Was the vehicle clean and full of gas? After your trip is complete, you then have the option to rate your experience, making it that more easy and transparent for the next renter.
Turo can be your go-to rental car option in over 2,500 cities but it’s also a great way to make some extra cash – from the driver’s perspective.
