Hotel Les Roches Blanches

Cassis, France

Perched on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, Hotel Les Roches Blanches is one of the most beautiful boutique properties you’ll find. The luxury hotel, drenched in an Art Deco style decor, is the premier accommodation in the small seaside town of Cassis, France.

Waiting for you in your room are très chic beach hats as well as a signature tote. A simple touch by the property that makes guests feel thought of, especially if the guests happen to be hat collectors like we are!  Our room was huge by any standard with a sitting area, large closet down the hall and gigantic bathroom-of-our-dreams with a double sink, walk in shower and delicious soaking tub.

Each room has a stunning view of the sea and many have views of the two beautiful infinity pools on site. The long, lower deck pool is set just feet above the ocean so while you relax, you can hear the waves crash below. The second pool is stationed a bit higher on the cliffs and is also surrounded by loungers.

From the pool deck, there is direct access to the ocean, along with paddle boards and floats. Being able to take a dip in the Mediterranean so easily certainly was a highlight of staying at the property. We spent hours floating in the sea, staring back up at the gorgeous Les Roches Blanches towering above us.

In the afternoons, with a cocktail in hand, we enjoyed friendly games of bocce ball with other guests. As the sun begin to set, from the bocce court we watched as the town of Cassis began to glow with twinkling lights reflecting off the deep navy water.

Evenings were spent enjoying beautiful meals at Les Belles Canailles, one of the restaurants at the hotel. The mostly Mediterranean menu uses local, seasonal ingredients to create delicious and beautiful dishes. We indulged in the Provençal artichoke and Mediterranean pagre (type of fish) several times, they were so tasty.

No detail was overlooked at Hotel Les Roches Blanches. This is always appreciated but even more so when traveling with a child. Our then 15-month old daughter, Penny, accompanied us to southern France and was welcomed by the staff at Les Roches Blanches with open arms. We were so pleased with how kid-friendly the hotel was and highly recommend it to anyone traveling with (and of course without) children!

Compass + Twine was a welcomed guest of Hotel Les Roches Blanches and thanks them for an incredible stay. (It was much too short- we will be back!) As always, all opinions are our own.
