You hear all the time about people going to Vermont to get away from it all. That’s definitely part of the charm, but there’s so much more going on there than you’d expect. This skiing is among the best on the East Coast, and the bustling town of Stowe is full of energy and fun to explore.
If you’re like us and are always on the look out for getaways where your furry best friend can join, then Topnotch Resort is your jam. Make sure you call ahead and let them know Rufus is tagging along and they’ll put you in a pet-perfect room and even have some treats waiting (for your dog, not you, sorry). The rooms are really spacious, with plenty of room for all your bulky coats and ski gear if you go in the winter. To boost the relaxation factor, head down to the spa for an awesome massage and then take a dip in the hot tub to further unwind. Nothing is cooler (literally!) than sitting in the hot tub while the snow is falling all around you. Just be sure to bring your beanie!
Getting hungry? Then head downstairs to Flannel, the resort’s on-site restaurant. If you want a lively vibe, The Roost is where it’s at. The après-ski bar has live music, shuffleboard, a bocce court, and a fire pit. If that doesn’t get ya going, the food is really comforting and they have a great (and large!) selection of locally brewed beers. It’s the prefect way to unwind after a day on the slopes or relax after a day in town.
