You owe New York City a thank you card. Why? Pizza.

According to legend, in the 1890s an Italian immigrant brought pizza to the U.S -New York City specifically – and if we could, we’d cover him in kisses. Lombardi’s was opened in 1905 in the Nolita neighborhood, making it the first pizzeria in America. For the last 100 years, they’ve been cranking out pies that are universally considered some of the best in the City. No reservations, cash only, and a simple menu – it’s no frills from start to finish. It’s true and original New York style thin-crust pizza. You can’t go wrong with the classic red-sauce pies, like margarita or sausage. However, they’ve also made a name for themselves slinging their signature white clam pizza.

Order your favorite pizza, maybe a cold beer, and voilà, you’re suddenly having the best day ever.
