Some people come to New York City solely for the pizza. Not to brag or anything, but we know how to make a pretty great pie here in the Big Apple. But with pizzerias on every corner, where does one go for the best of the best? We’ve done lots of research and the answer is John’s of Bleeker Street. It’s at the top of our favorites list for a reason. This cash-only West Village hole in the wall serves up some of the best pies we’ve ever had. They won’t let you order by the slice – whole pizzas only – but they will let you carve your name into the tables or the walls… if you can find space (it’s a challenge to try). The plain pie has remained the most popular since they opened in 1929. Tourists and locals both still cram into the booths of this NYC icon just to get a bite.
