It isn’t often that you find a restaurant that embodies the local culture quite like La Perla does in Zihuatanejo. The beachfront restaurant and bar has been a staple on La Ropa beach since it opened in 1975. Family owned and operated, you’ll often find the owners, Francisco and his parents, having lunch there. To put it simply, it’s a place you won’t want to leave. The space is open and tables are set on creaky, full-of-character floors, and spill out into the sand. If you have the lucky chance to meet the charming Fancisco, you’re sure to spend an entire afternoon there sipping cerveza, noshing on tiritas, and listening to his stories – just like we did.
