Lazy Sunday, wake up in the late afternoon
Call Parnell just to see how he’s doin’
Hello? What up, Parns?
Yo, Samberg, what’s crackin’?
You thinkin’ what I’m thinkin’? Narnia
Man, it’s happenin’
But first my hunger pangs are stickin’ like duct tape
Let’s hit up Magnolia and mack on some cupcakes
No doubt, that bakery’s got all the bomb frostings
I love those cupcakes like McAdams loves Gosling
Two, no, six, no, twelve, bakers’ dozen
I told you that I’m crazy for these cupcakes, cousin

If Magnolia cupcakes weren’t already famous, they certainly were after Andy Samberg and Chris Parnell whipped out this digital short gem on SNL one Saturday night in 2005. Despite the subsequent cupcake craze that ensued, the cupcakes at Magnolia really are the best of the best. We’re not sure if it’s the light and flakey cake or the rich, sweet, buttery, creamy (so. many. more. adjectives.) frosting, but nobody does it better than Magnolia.
The much-adored bakery has so many more delicious offerings up their sleeve than cupcakes alone. They do pies, cakes, cookies and more. If it’s the cupcakes you hear about first, then praise for the banana pudding usually doesn’t fall too far behind. Many folks agree that it’s the best banana pudding they’ve ever had, by far. So next time that afternoon sweet tooth hits, find your closest Magnolia and mack on some cupcakes.
