Otto Enoteca & Pizzeria is exactly where you want to go for a fun night out with friends. That is, if you’re looking for some good wine, savory meats & cheeses, and delicious pizza and pasta dishes. Mario Batali knocks it out of the park again with this much adored Italian enoteca. We’re enamored with the large wine bar area upfront. With plenty of high-top counters, grab a glass and actually enjoy yourself while waiting for a table or bar seat. Upon entering, the host or hostess will give you a ticket with the name of an Italian town printed on it. Hanging above on the entry wall is a large train station ticker-board that’s constantly reshuffling letters to display new town names and time schedules. When the letters flip and your town appears on the board, it’s time to go eat.
The meat and cheese plate is unbeatable and cannot not be passed up. Prosciutto, salami, ricotta and Coach Triple Cream are served on a wooden board accompanied with golden truffle honey and cherry compote. But the pizza Mario Batali is doling out is what keeps us coming back. The thin crust pizzas at Otto’s are amazing – the Pepperoni and Pane Frattau with Egg are guaranteed to be a hit. We also drool over the White Clam Pizza, it’s amazing. The pasta dishes are equally gratifying, but the Spaghetti alla Carbonara will likely garner the most praise from your table.
Another great part about Otto is you don’t have to sacrifice taste for price. The pizza and pastas are some of the best in town and all run about $11-$14.
