Upland is one of the hottest restaurants in town right now. Lucky for all of us, the quality matches the hype – Upland is insanely good. Characterized as “upscale Californian” fare, everything from the food to the ambiance is a home run. You’ll melt as soon as they bring out the warm, pillowy loaf of fresh bread accompanied with salty, sweet butter. The only problem you’ll encounter is deciding what dishes are going to make the cut for your order. You’ll undoubtedly have trouble choosing. The ‘Nduja Pizza (one of our faves), Crispy Duck Wings and Crackling Porcelet are all celestial. They’re also know for their Whole Crispy Mushroom and Roasted Short Rib for Two.
After years of success at Il Buco, Chef Andrew Smillie finally opened his dream restaurant. Upland is inspired by Chef Smillie’s California roots. The location at 26th and Park makes it easily accessible from most corners of Manhattan. It does tend to be one of those restaurants where you need a reservation a month out, but the bar area is big – so you could try just walking in early to grab one of those coveted spots.
