That’s right, we said flying trapeze school. New York City has everything. After years of driving past Pier 40 and seeing the trapeze classes up top, we knew we finally had to try it. The trapeze itself is only 30 feet high, but you’re atop the pier, about 3 stories up so it feels higher and the views of the city are gorg. After a basics lesson, the instructors harness you in and you get started! At first, the hard part is just simply swinging, but by the end they’ll have you dangling upside down and jumping into the arms of another trapeze professional. You do not have to be athletic to do this – you just have to be curious. It’s such a fun way to spend a warm afternoon and the next time you pass Pier 40, you’ll have a sense of pride having conquered the class of flying trapeze!
