The Comedy Cellar is the best game in town. The dive-y, world renowned comedy club in the West Village has long been a pit stop and practice ground for the most talented comedians around. It always delivers.

The line up inevitably has routines that will have your stomach in pain, the token guy (or more often, gal) that takes it embarrassingly too far, multiple familiar faces from Comedy Central & VH1, and sometimes – rather often – a big name celebrity, who will take the stage unannounced at the end. Whether it was Chris Rock trying out his new ‘Michael Vick’ material or Aziz Ansari warming up for his tour, we’ve always had the best time and the most memorable nights here. In addition to those two, regulars include Louis C.K., Dane Cook, Judah Friedlander, Artie Lange, Colin Quinn and the list goes on.

The tickets are pretty easy to snag – usually the later the show the better (and more sloppy) it gets. The atmosphere in the tight basement space is laid-back and intimate. This makes for a great show. It also means you’ll probably get called out when you have to get up to use the restroom. Jokes on you.
