This timeless, quaint West Village spot is well worth the countless hours we’ve spent trying to reserve a table. The restaurant has 28 seats, so when you get one, it’s as if you won the gravy meatball slider lottery. (Sidenote: if you really can’t handle the resi situation, the slider recipe of Chef Joey Campanaro’s beloved grandmother is on their website). The menu is small, but every dish is of the highest caliber. Order the pork chops, the whole fish, lobster risotto, or the popular chicken. As you savor each bite of that chicken you’ll ponder, “How can it be so crispy on the outside and yet still so juicy on the inside??” Respect.
This little West Village hot spot does it right for every meal. Not only is it a favorite dinner spot, but we’ve also added it to our list of best places to brunch. Enjoy their fluffy pancakes, delicious beignets, and particularly eye-popping bacon. The burger is always a solid choice when deciding between a true breakfast option and a lunch time staple.
No matter what meal you choose here, you’ll inevitably notice a few folks or even a large group of people loitering on the opposite street corner taking pictures in your direction. No, you’re not an overnight sensation, but the corner restaurant is at the bottom of the apartment building used in the show “Friends”. How YOU doin’?
