The story at Black Tap is short and sweet: the space is small and they’ve got some insane burgers – award winning, actually.
So far, we’ve just been to the SoHo location, where the space is long and lean, consisting only of a couple window seats and a dozen or so spots at the bar. Black Tap has an extensive selection of beers on tap and, even without a full liquor license, their sparkling wine and sake based cocktails are creative and delicious.
The inventive burger list offers options like The Steak Au Poivre Burger, The Spicy Mexican, and The Falafel Burger. You can’t go wrong with the staff favorite, the All-American Burger.
As far as awards go, their juicy Greg Norman recently received a blue ribbon at the 2015 New York City Food and Wine Festival Burger Bash. The Wagyu Beef Burger, topped with blue cheese, house buttermilk-dill, and arugula won for People’s Choice. Served on a potato bun with think and savory french fries, this juicy baby is absolutely delicious.
If you’re not in the mood for a full-on burger, you can get any of their sandwich creations in salad form. Can we also mention the Spicy Korean BBQ wings? These heavenly nuggets, tossed in a sweet-and-spicy sticky sauce, are so good you won’t mind them smeared all over your fingers and face.
