One of the fascinating things about New York City is the diverse array of activities it has to offer – and walking on the deck of an aircraft carrier is one of them. The USS Intrepid served in World War II, the Vietnam War and the Cold War. Moreover, it survived 5 kamikaze attacks and one torpedo attack. Baller. But a trip to the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum also includes up close encounters with numerous fighter aircraft, a decommissioned British Airways Concorde jet, the Submarine Growler and, perhaps most impressively, the Space Shuttle Enterprise. For most of 2015, the Intrepid is also the site for the Hubble@25 exhibit, which commemorates the 25th anniversary of the space telescope’s launch.  Also keep an eye out on their activity calendar. During the summer they’ll often have food truck events and even show movies on the deck in the evenings. No matter your age, the whole Intrepid experience should not be missed.
