The rugged, lush, almost-rainforest-y terrain of the Azores makes for one amazing golf experience. When you plan a trip to these beautiful Portuguese Islands, don’t leave out a round of golf at Furnas Golf Course from your itinerary. Not only are there stunning views on every hole, but this course also happens to be rated the 2nd best course in all of Portugal by Golf Digest. Whether you’re an avid golf (like Daniel), a leisurely golfer (like Sarah & Mike), or have never swung a club in your life (cough-cough, Lindsay), the golf course provides an awesome round.
No need to bring clubs, they have great rentals at the clubhouse, include Scotty Cameron putters. Just call ahead to reserve your tee time and swing away at the stunning 18 hole course designed by renowned Scottish course architect, Philip Mackenzie Ross. The lush greens, roughs, and fairways are impeccably kept and surrounding nature will take your breath away.
In addition to the Furnas Golf Course, the club also has two other well-regarded courses on the island: Batalha Golf Course and Terceira Golf Course. We didn’t have chance to play those yet, but if they’re anything like the Furnas course, they’re sure to be amazing!
